I thought that was weird as well, only thing I can think of is maybe Purdue has some clause in a buyout or language that says if he takes another DC job, he won’t get paid.

The other thing is, Pete may have been given the incorrect info and Scherer is actually our DC and Bam Amina is our LBer coach.

This better not be happening!!!!!
 
If Mullen keeps Guenther then it won’t be long before I will be cranking up the fire Mullen campaign!
 
The defense sucked and if Mullen excuses that than the defense will always be a liability on his watch and that would NOT be acceptable here, we have seen first hand the defense can at least be top 60 or even top 50 here!

I know that everyone is speculating here, including me. Glad that Scherer will be here for any position. But, why would he leave a P4 school as the defensive coordinator and go to a P5 school as a position coach? Doesn't make too much sense to me. Have to believe that there's more to this story that hasn't been told yet.

Either Guenther is returning or the DC search is ongoing. I’m betting Guenther is returning and Scherer is taking a reduced role since he’s just starting a family and he just posted about winning at home speech from Buzz.

Either way, it’s a welcome addition as we know what Scherer brings to the table here.

Or maybe there is some clause preventing Scherer from getting paid and Guenther is the DC in name only and Scherer is actually running the ship

Odom let him go. He didn't leave voluntarily.

Guenther is still here, I can’t believe he is still here.
What could Mullen possibly say to excuse this?
 
Friend or not, if it’s not working, you have a hard conversation with your friend. This is still a business.
 
I hope Mullen doesn’t try to short this guy in again but the silence is deafening!
